Engine refuses to start below 8°C ambient. Cranks healthy, fuel present, new plugs. Once warm it runs fine. 500cc, ~120 hours since rebuild.

Brief stumble and EGT spike around 4500 RPM under load. Idle and mid-range smooth. Recently replaced PTO crank seal.

Single-side scuff on exhaust side of piston, found during teardown after sudden seize at altitude.

Plug on cylinder 1 fouls within 2 hours of run time. Cylinder 2 stays clean. No power loss reported.

Carburetor float height must be set to 14.5 ± 0.3 mm. Incorrect float height causes flooding at low RPM and lean condition at WOT.

Static timing should be 2.4 mm BTDC for engines in the 450–550cc class. Verify CDI module ground continuity before adjusting.

Multiple operators report needle valve sticking with ethanol blends after >30 days storage. Replace viton-tipped needle and reset float.
